The Four Hour Workweek

I have recently finished reading the Four Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. This guy is exactly where a lot of us want to be in life. He has a successful business that he doesn't have to worry too much about, he travels, he does interesting things, and best of all he is still young enough to really enjoy it. A lot of the concepts are new to me as I sure they will be for a lot of the readers. The true downside of the book is that Tim Ferriss presents a lot of these ideas as easier than they truly are. Quitting your job and just moving on with your own business in life is not as easy as he presents. Many people that read this book have obligations(i.e. kids!) that require a steady stream of income. He does give alternatives about starting your own business while still maintaining your current life-waster though. Although many of the ideas could be much more challenging than how they are portrayed, this book is rich with information. I knew this country was moving to a culture of outsourcing to save costs and increase production but I never imagined that someone could do it with their personal life. Ferriss also gives sound information about testing your new business idea to get a solid idea of exactly how profitable you can be. For new internet marketers, information on how to effectively use Google Adwords to sell products is also helpful. After reading this book you WILL think often about quitting your job and starting your own business. I know I sure am. Another one of my favorite parts of this book is the information on traveling and getting the maximum benefits from your money and your life. Overall, I would say that this book is worth a read for the entertainment value, if not for implementation of the many excellent suggestions contained within. It's a #1 bestseller for a reason.

Holly Mann's "Honest Riches"

Click here to get Make Money Online - Honest Riches

Okay, okay. I am finally turning out my review of Holly Mann's ebook "Honest Riches". I am a HUGE fan of this ebook. It directly addresses me, the budding internet marketer who is looking for a way to get his foot in the door with a lack of knowledge but a surplus of motivation and desire to succeed. Holly was in this very position herself. She is a young, single mom who got out of the Army as a disabled vet after a couple of years. She worked as a contractor in Iraq for a bit then decided to move back to the states. She had a baby and was living with her brother only pulling down $700 a month, most likely from disability benefits, and it just wasn't cutting it. After a couple of mediocre attempts at internet ventures, she decided to move to Thailand with her son. She felt comfortable going there because she had previously experienced the Thai life and culture after a stint there as an exchange student. Not to mention that Thailand, as is the case with any third world country, has a DIRT cheap cost-of-living. Heck, I've thought about moving to either there or the Phillipines a couple of times myself for that and the beautiful women there! But I digress... In any case Holly was able to live a reasonably comfortable life in Thailand off her monthly $700. Since she had to sell her laptop on eBay just to get the tickets to fly there, she gave up $250 for parts for a new computer at some local PC chop shop. What they threw together for her was basically a computer with a pull-cord. According to Holly, this thing hummed like a John Deere when she was on it. In addition, she had a crap dial-up connection! She struggled to get web pages up and learn the internet marketing business, but she persevered and within 4 months she was making $12,000+ a month! She is a successful affiliate marketer as well as ebook author. She has learned many simple, honest, & effective ways to make money online. I bought her book when I was searching for the Rich Jerk's book and saw hers as an opportunity at more cost-effective information which was geared towards beginners such as myself. I don't regret that decision and I highly recommend that you purchase the book as well. It covers affiliate marketing which is probably one of the main sources of any internet marketer's income. It also discusses Google advertising programs, writing your own ebook, blogging, and much more. My favorite part is probably the section where she discusses setting up your own website. You don't need to be an html wizard to do this! There is also plenty of information for making money by selling information or physical products through venues such as eBay. This has opened my eyes to the possibility of making a good living online. I am like many people who had no idea what internet marketing was and now I am looking forward to the future of being my own boss, setting my own hours, providing useful services, and making tons of money and having tons of fun doing it. If you would like a good start to your internet marketing career, buy Holly's book by clicking the link below.

Top 5 Books about Dating & Relationships for Men

I have been fortunate enough to read some excellent books on this subject, and especially within the last 3 years. If you are a man who wants to know more about dating and relationships and how to be successful in your love life, these are must-reads. So without further ado:

1.

"The Game" by Neil Strauss. This is an excellent book. It is the story of bestselling author Neil Strauss' journey from being a nerd to a superstar in the seduction and pickup community. There are jewels of advice scattered throughout the book, but the true value is in the storytelling. It also lets the reader know what is possible for a man who just isn't that good with women if they put forth a little effort. A great book and I would recommend it to anyone.

2.

"The Mystery Method" by Mystery, Lovedrop, and Neil Strauss. After reading "The Game", you will naturally be curious to know and understand the methodology of it's main superstar teacher, Mystery. This book basically tells 3/4 of everything you will ever need to know about meeting women. The other 1/4 you will learn by experience. I can't stress how great this book is, not just for meeting girls but also for learning how to handle yourself better in social situations. If you suck with women, you need this book. If you are okay with women, you need this book to get better. If you are good with women and have never heard of this book before, get it to understand WHY you are so good. Excellent read.

3.

"She Comes First" by Ian Kerner. I read this one during an educational phase I was undertaking in my own relationship. I wanted to know how to better please and take care of the special lady in my life. If Mystery's book teaches you how to use your mouth to be a better speaker, this book teaches you how to use your mouth to be adept at other things. Ahem, if you know what I'm saying. (I'm trying to keep it PG here!) You get the idea here. Great book.

4.

"The Way of The Superior Man" by David Deida. This book is more helpful once you are in a relationship but can also help with other areas of your life. It's very spiritual, but also very enlightening. Deida speaks of finding your true purpose in life and letting all other things like family, love, and everything else fall into place around your true purpose. It also highlights why it's difficult to deal with your woman sometimes, why you shouldn't get mad when your woman tests you, and how to handle such situations. It was very enjoyable and you may have some very deep insights by the end.

5.

"Mastering Your Hidden Self" by Serge Kahili King. This book is about the ancient art of Huna. It is a form of spirituality that can enhance your current spiritual preference or stand on its own if you don't have a spiritual preference. While the spirituality of it can be quite enlightening, the real strength of the book is it's precepts and that "the world is what you think it is." You can learn a lot about yourself and ways to master your life, career, and relationships from the book. I still like to read it from time to time and it gives a me a reminder that ultimately I am in control of my life and destiny. Give it a read.

These are my 5 favorites. If you don't have them, get them! You won't be sorry.

Sirius Satellite Radio & Howard Stern

I have a Sirius Satellite Radio in my truck. It rocks. Here's why.

The main reason I purchased a Sirius radio and subscription is the King of
all Media: Howard Stern. When I first moved to the Baltimore area, I used to listen to Howard every morning on my way to work. At that time, he was still on terrestrial radio and had me laughing till I was crying every morning. Even when things were bad in my life, I could count on a good laugh in the morning and a great start to my day. It was also during this time that Howard announced that he was moving to satellite radio where his show would be uncensored. I could only imagine how much funnier the show would be without censorship constraints and boy was I right. That was over 2 years ago and I don't regret it one bit. The show is ridiculously funny and entertaining. Now I can listen to it to and from work because the show replays all day and I don't have to miss that much of it. The good thing is that if you want to keep listening, you can log into Sirius' website and stream the show online. This is awesome if you are one of the fortunate ones who can listen at work(I can't).

Besides Howard, Sirius is just an all-around awesome service. It has every genre of music and all the music stations are commercial-free. You can't get that kind of service from XM radio. There's also sports, comedy, lifestyle, and other talk programs including one of my favorite: Playboy Radio.(read my previous entry about my visit to the Playboy mansion if you haven't already) For all you rap fans, Eminem has his own radio station, Shade 45, as well.

Now that I've had my Sirius radio for this long, I just don't think I could switch back to regular radio. I would also not want to switch to XM and I wouldn't recommend anyone else going to XM either. I'll make it easy for you:

Sirius: Howard Stern, commercial-free music, NBA, NFL, Nascar, Baseball
XM: 1 Hour of Oprah a week, music with commercials, a pathetic lineup

Honestly, one of my best friends has an XM radio in his truck and I HATE riding with him and I make fun of him every time I see it. That's how good Sirius is in comparison. If you are going to get a satellite radio, go with Sirius. In fact I will make it easy for you. If you are interested click the button below to get more information, order a radio, and set up a subscription.

Rich Jerk ebook

Rich Jerk's guide to internet marketing is interesting to say the least. The guy is exactly what he says he is. Some of his techniques could be called questionable by many. But the point is, he lays it all out on the line and holds nothing back. He says he's going to describe exactly what he does to make money online and that's what he does, no holds barred. I've read other reviews saying that all of this information is available online for free, but I challenge that claim. It may be stunningly obvious to internet marketers that have been around and played the game for a while, but what about the green newbies like myself? This information is very useful and there is also a section geared towards beginners. The time I saved by buying the book was worth not having to look everywhere on the internet for answers and possibly not finding any. I've already followed many of the techniques and I am setting up to do even more with Rich Jerk's system in the near future. Anybody who's looking to have a career in internet marketing can definitely gain something from this. I wouldn't describe it as a perfect beginner's guide. It IS more geared to someone with a little bit more experience, but it also wasn't beyond my understanding. I had no trouble grasping the concepts and seeing the potential of the various techniques.

A book I also bought which is probably the perfect BEGINNER's guide to internet marketing is Holly Mann's Honest Riches. I also got a lot from Holly's book and I will do a review on it in the near future. But I feel like Rich Jerk is a perfect companion to Honest Riches and the two are an awesome starter set for any aspiring internet marketing entrepreneur.

Review of Babalu's and Gardel's in Baltimore

I just got back from eating good food at Babalu's Cuban Grill and doing a little salsa dancing at Gardel's in downtown Baltimore. I felt Babalu's was overpriced for the quality of the food we got, but the mojitos were the best I've had in this area. The food was decent but it took a long time to get there and at times we felt like we had been forgotten.

We were going to go dancing at Latin Palace but for some reason they thought since they had a merenguero that nobody had ever heard of, that they could charge a $30 cover. So that prompted a trip to Gardel's instead. Gardel's is an awesome club. Elegant and classy are two words that come to mind. $10 cover and the drinks are reasonable. Not to mention the fact that the club is HUGE. Plenty of space to dance, drink, and socialize. I highly recommend going if you're ever in the area and enjoy latin dance.

Well, I just finished up homework for the evening so I'm off to bed. Happy trails.
